Instructor Lea Blackburn

Director Lea BlackburnLea Blackburn has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education since 1973 in a wide variety of positions. She has worked as a Director, preschool teacher, infant-toddler teacher, parent educator, and college instructor.

Lea holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cal State Chico and a Masters in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College. She has served as adjunct faculty at Santa Barbara Community College for the Early Childhood Education Department and is currently a fulltime Instructor/Director for SBCC.

“I have a life long love of learning and believe all children can succeed with the love and support of the adults and family around them.  I am committed to providing children and families with a nurturing, diverse, anti-bias approach and age appropriate experience at San Marcos Parent Child Workshop.”

 

Assistant Director Diane Gonzalez

Assistant Director Diane GonzalezDiane Gonzalez has been the Assistant Director at SMPCW since 2004. She was previously a parent at Starr-King PCW and has worked as a preschool teacher, infant-toddler teacher and now Assistant Director.

Diane holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College.

She attended UCSB and SBCC. Her passion is introducing children to the wonders and science of nature and the environment.

Diane serves on the Board of the local Planned Parenthood organization as well as the board of La Casa de la Raza. She is a wife and mother of three.

“I love the workshops and their ability to support, educate and assist families.

San Marcos PCW is unique in that we have the high school students come in to work with us. The students are great with the children and a lot of interracial, inter-generational, and interpersonal learning takes place. There should be more programs like this one!”
